The Y water fitness program consists of a variety of exercise classes to meet the needs of all ages and fitness levels. Water exercise is easy to learn, safe, and low-impact to minimize muscle soreness. The natural buoyancy of the water supports joints & creates a resistant environment to work muscles. Participants do not need to know how to swim to take the classes (Deep water class participants do need to be comfortable in water over their head). Water fitness classes are FREE to YMCA members and $10 per class for potential members. Some examples of water fitness classes are Arthritis Classes, Tabata, Shallow Water Aerobics, Water Walking, Silver Splash, Water Fitness, Deep Water Workout, and Water Recovery.
