The wellness staff at the YMCA is caring, competent and experienced. They are here to serve you and they will guide and support you through our wide range of health and wellness programs so you can find the workout regimen that fits your lifestyle.When you begin your fitness journey at the YMCA, you'll see that support doesn't end with our staff; you'll meet other supportive people who will become part of your work-out support team and turn in to lifelong friends. Within the YMCA community, we have something for everyone. Our YMCA promotes healthy eating and active living through our wellness programs and community involvement. We have a diverse range of programs to offer you upon joining the YMCA that will help you achieve your fitness and wellness goals. Whether you are a new health seeker or someone that has a wide range of experience in the gym, we can help. Personal Training
Personal Training is designed to enhance physical fitness and meet a participant's personal wellness goals through one-on-one training. Each personal training session is an hour long. A nationally certified personal trainer will design an individual fitness plan geared to your specific needs. Each session includes the latest training techniques to maximize your results and motivate you to reach your goals.


Diabetes Prevention Program
The YMCA's Diabetes Prevention Program helps adults at high risk of developing type 2 diabetes reduce their risk for developing the disease by taking steps that will improve their overall health and well-being.

InBody Analysis
Provides essential data for any weight loss and fitness program through a quick analysis of body composition, as well as segmental muscle and body fat analysis

Ready, Set, Move!

This program is focused on education and is a great introduction to health & wellness. With your membership at the YMCA, you will be able to work 1-on-1 with a Health and Wellness Specialist to kick start your fitness journey. The “Ready, Set, Move!” program utilizes a three step process that will help you be successful in reaching your goals at the YMCA. 

Worksite Wellness

The Y’s Worksite Wellness program is designed to make the implementation of accessible and encouraged healthy eating and physical activity easy and desirable for all organizations. The Y will work with worksites in becoming a partner with Good for You Spartanburg.


Group Exercise
Group exercise can be described as exercise performed by a group of individuals and led by an instructor. A variety of group exercise formats exist, including (but not limited to) step, kickboxing, indoor cycling, bootcamp, core strength, TRX, Pilates, Yoga, Zumba, and interval training. 


Footsteps to Fitness
The YMCA hosts monthly runs for local elementary school running clubs. We use the YMCA and different parks around Spartanburg to set up a running course that is suitable for all ages and running abilities.

Homeschool PE, Kindergym, New Impact 


Massage Therapy:

Self-care is one of the most important aspects of wellness. The Thomas E Hannah YMCA offers $25 massages to all members. Please sign up at the member service desk one day in advance and shower off before a massage. Massages will be offered in 45 minute intervals throughout the week. Our licensed massage therapist is Michelle Mabry. Michelle is certified in massage techniques including Deep Tissue, Pregnancy, Swedish, Hot Stone, Sports, and Clinical Range-of-Motion.
Times available: M & Tu - 1:30-6:30pm W, Th & F 9am-noon; 2:30-4:30pm
