Camp of Inclusion
The YMCA of Greater Spartanburg also offers a very special camp every summer at the Middle Tyger YMCA called Camp I.M.P.A.C.T. This camp, which will be offered June 28- July 2, 2010 and July 19-23, 2010 is a summer day camp designed for children with disabilities to participate in an inclusive traditional day camp experience. With the help of a grant from the National Inclusion Project the YMCA of Greater Spartanburg is able to provide an environment for the youth that will allow children with disabilities to interact and find acceptance with peers who have no physical disabilities. It is our ultimate goal for children without disabilities to gain a greater understanding and acceptance of children with disabilities. We want to teach the children that ALL children- with or without disabilities- are capable of serving as well as being served. Camp I.M.P.A.C.T. (Inspiring, Motivation, and Progressing to Achieve Challenges Together) is held at the Middle Tyger YMCA and serves both Greenville and Spartanburg Areas. For more information on Camp I.M.P.A.C.T. please contact Adam Beasley at 864-585-0306 or 864-433-9623 or by email at mailto:abeasley@spartanburgymca.org.
