YMCA YOUTH FLAG is the premier youth flag football league for boys and girls ages 6-14. The program provides young players a fun and exciting opportunity to engage in non-contact, continuous action while learning life lessons in teamwork.

BASIC INFORMATION:

• Co-ed, all abilities and skill levels welcome
• Players are split into four divisions: U8 (6-7 Year olds) | U10 (8-9 Year olds) | U12 (10-11 year olds) | U15 (12-14 year olds).
• Utilizing the NFL Flag Football Rules and Standards
• 1-hour practice on a weeknight 5:30PM – 8:30PM
• Location for Middle Tyger YMCA Practice: Florence Chapel Park: 280 N Craft St. Wellford SC 29385.
• Location for Thomas E Hannah Practice: Thomas E Hannah YMCA Field
• Location for Games: Florence Chapel Middle School and Thomas E Hannah YMCA
• Games are on Saturday mornings/early afternoon
• Players must wear a mouth guard, shorts without pockets, and cleats
• This is an instructional league, the main focus of practice, drills, and games will be on skill development
• All participants, coaches, parents, and guardians will be held to the Y’s code of conduct
• Cross-play games at other YMCA of Greater Spartanburg locations is possible.

• Jersey Store:

  • Beginning this season, jerseys will no longer be included in the program registration fee. Families will purchase jerseys directly through our online Jersey Store, which opens May 1.
  • More details will be shared as we open the store.  We are excited to announce this change as it will improve the program and create a long-term process to help all involved.
  • Reusable Jerseys: Jerseys are designed to be reused for a minimum of two years, allowing players to wear the same jersey across multiple seasons.  We expect to have a jersey for Basketball/Volleyball, and another for Outdoor Sports (Soccer, Flag Football, T-Ball).

Refund Policy—Other than an outstanding event, our refund policy is that once a child has participated in practice or a game, no refunds will be awarded.
