Day of Giving – March 3rd, 2026
On March 3, the YMCA of Greater Spartanburg will host our annual Day of Giving, spotlighting an essential part of our mission: drowning prevention.
Knowing how to swim is more than a skill; it’s protection, confidence, and freedom. At the Y, we believe every child should have the opportunity to develop water-safety skills in a supportive and welcoming environment.
Nationally, the YMCA is one of the largest providers of swim education in the country. Each year, more than one million children receive critical swimming and water safety instruction at YMCAs across the United States. That commitment to keeping families safe is woven into the fabric of our organization.
Here in Spartanburg, that impact is personal. We see children take brave first steps into the water. We see families find reassurance. We see young people grow stronger, not just physically, but emotionally.
For generations, our YMCA has been a place where individuals of all ages discover their potential, build relationships, and feel a sense of belonging. From aquatics and summer camp to wellness programs and youth initiatives, the Y continues to be a trusted community partner.
