Home School PE
The YMCA Home School P.E. Program offers homeschool students an exciting opportunity to stay active, build friendships, and develop healthy habits in a fun, supportive environment.
Home School P.E. meets on Wednesdays at the Thomas E. Hannah Family YMCA and the Middle Tyger YMCA for children ages 5-12.
Parents are to drop off participants at the YMCA before class starts at 1:00 pm.
From 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm, participants take part in a structured physical fitness class that includes warm-up, stretching, basic strength and endurance activities, and dynamic movement exercises. Each week, students also focus on sports skill development by learning the fundamentals of basketball, soccer, pickleball, volleyball, golf, and other recreational sports and games.
From 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm, participants enjoy open swim with organized games and activities in the pool under YMCA staff supervision.
Parents are to pick up participants from the swimming pool area by 3:00 pm.
The Home School P.E. Program is designed to encourage physical activity, teamwork, sportsmanship, and confidence while providing homeschool students with meaningful social interaction and active learning opportunities each week.
Middle Tyger YMCA Home School P.E. (2026-27 School Year)
Come and join our Middle Tyger YMCA Home School P.E. program.
Located at 720 Shoals Road, our Middle Tyger YMCA is set up to serve the westside of Spartanburg and the Duncan community with a wonderful facility.
Participants will play in the basketball gym and outdoor field space, then transition to our indoor pool to take advantage of all that the YMCA has to offer.
