Hosted by Beast Mode at the YMCA of Greater Spartanburg, the Memorial Day Murph Challenge is an annual tradition open to all fitness levels. Multiple scaling options are available, ensuring participants of all abilities can take part safely and confidently.

“MURPH” is more than just a workout; it is a tribute. This Hero WOD honors LT. Michael P. Murphy and all military members who have given their lives in service to our country. It challenges participants physically, mentally, and emotionally while providing an opportunity to move with purpose and remembrance.

The Murph Challenge is the official annual fundraiser of the LT. Michael P. Murphy Memorial Scholarship Foundation, presented by Forged®. Participation supports scholarships that carry forward Lieutenant Murphy’s legacy of courage, leadership, and sacrifice.

The YMCA of Greater Spartanburg is proud to serve as an Official Host site. By completing “MURPH,” participants join a nationwide community committed to honoring service through strength, resilience, and unity.

• 10:00 AM – Heat 3

• 11:00 AM – Food & Fellowship

Following the workout, the YMCA pool will be open for participants, families, and members. Stay after for fellowship and time together in the sun.

The MURPH Challenge is a day to raise awareness, build camaraderie, and honor through action.
