Youth Cross Country
Do you have an aspiring runner interested in learning more about the sport? Our YMCA Cross Country program is designed for rising Kindergarten through 12th graders.
The program will foster a passion for running while developing speed, endurance and confidence in a supportive team-oriented environment.
Ages 5-12
Youth Cross Country is a coed running program that will meet once weekly for an hour to an hour and 15 minutes. Athletes are introduced to form and technique as well as a program designed to increase stamina. Runners will aim to build confidence and enhance endurance.
This program is for rising 5k-12th grade
Start date for the program will be week of August 25th and will end October 10th.
Practices will be held on Monday nights and one other night during the week (TBD).
Practices will be held at FENCE located at 3381 Hunting Country Rd., Tryon NC 28782
Ages 5-12 will participate in 2 meets throughout the season (dates TBD) and ages 13-17 will participate in 1 meet. There is a $10 meet fee for ages 13-17, ages 5-15 will be free.
All athletes will receive a uniform top and shorts and participation medal.
