Church League Basketball is back for 2026-27!

For years, this league has brought churches across Spartanburg together on the court. Young people from different congregations compete, grow, and build friendships, while coaches and volunteers pour into the next generation. Every game is a chance to model Christ-centered sportsmanship and to show our city what it looks like when churches work side by side. We believe this season can make an even bigger impact on Spartanburg, and we want your church to be part of it!

REGISTRATION IS FOR CHURCHES ONLY

Each church registers its team(s) here, one registration per team, in the division the team will play in. Individual players do not register online. Player rosters are submitted separately on the official YMCA roster form.

DIVISIONS

Boys and girls play in separate divisions; there are no coed teams. Divisions are offered for 5th-6th, 7th-8th, 9th-10th, and 11th-12th grade. Final divisions depend on church participation. If there are not enough teams to form a division, registration fees for that division will be reimbursed. If your church has a team that does not fit one of these divisions, please contact us.

SEASON

• Tentative start: Monday, November 30, 2026
• Target end: early February 2027
• No games during school breaks; play resumes Monday, January 4, 2027
• Six-game regular season followed by playoffs
• Games played on weekday evenings

FEES

$500 per team for all divisions. Fees must be paid in full before the season begins.

HOST A GAME SITE, GET A FREE TEAM

Churches that make their gym available to host league games will receive one team’s registration free. If your church can host, please let us know which weekday evenings your gym is available.

WAIVERS AND ROSTERS

Waivers must be completed before the season begins. Waivers cover the whole team, but each player must sign individually. Rosters (maximum 12 players) must be signed by the coach, the church minister or recreation director, and each player’s parent or guardian. Players on a school varsity, JV, or middle school basketball roster are not eligible during the school season.
