Swim Lessons/Youth Clinics - Private Lessons at Thomas Hannah

Getting Paired with Instructor

You are registered for Private Swim lessons with the Thomas E. Hannah YMCA! Thank you for swimming with us!

Now that you are registered, the Aquatics Director will begin working to pair you with one of our instructors. Once paired the instructor will be reaching out to you on the number or email you provided in registration to get you connected with your instructor and process payment. You will be able to schedule specific dates and times directly with your instructor.  We do work to have an instructor reach out as quickly as possible; there are times where this can take a few days up to a week.  We are working to pair the best instructor with your swimmer. If we are unable to pair you, you will not be charged, and we will reach out to let you know we removed you from the waitlist.

Preparing for your first lesson.  We do recommend goggles that do not cover the nose if you swimmer is getting their face wet but not required.  Bring a towel and bathing suit.  If your swimmer has long hair a braid or ponytail is typically helpful.  We do have family locker rooms available for parents or guardians of the opposite gender for younger swimmers.  If you arrive early for lessons or swim after, please note that all safety rules apply: specifically, if your swimmer is 5 years or younger they will need an 18-year-old adult who is responsible for them in the water with them.

Please do reach out if you have questions or more information that will help make your lessons a success!

See you in the pool!
